My poor baby girl is having some pooping issues. Help please! I need suggestions. She's been on solid food for about a month now. She doesn't eat a ton but we are building a small variety of foods. However, from the start she has been constipated. I stopped giving her banana's and I hardly give her much cereal at all. And I added plums and prunes to her diet. But nothing seems to be helping. What do I do?? With Aiden the prunes did the trick. I'm stuck and I feel terrible for her. All she can get out are little pebbles. I am willing to try anything. ????????
On a more pleasant note below is a picture of Makayla with us at Mason and Danielle's wedding this past weekend. Aiden got to stay with Aunt Mindy and play with Luke. I believe this was Makayla's first wedding. She did great too, especially for only getting a brief 30 min nap at the reception. If Aiden had been in this picture I might have accomplished my quest for a fantastic family picture. I love the pic but the quest lives on.

For my kids, Gerber's oatmeal cereal did the trick. After awhile, I only gave it to them every other day :)
Poor baby girl!
Ahhh... sweet Makayla! I hope she's not feeling bad!
Up until about two weeks ago, Elli was having the same problem. I'm not sure what changed it exactly. Either she just grew out of it, or I had thought that it could be when I introduced her to kale. It's pretty high in dietary fiber, so maybe that could have helped?
You are so beautiful, Stacey! Hope you're enjoying your summer.
Put a teaspoon of corn syrup in her bottle at the beginning of the day. Both of mine had major problems because of the formula. With M, we did give her close to a tablespoon each day, but she still has some issues. You can also try prunes/ prune juice. It is fabulous as well. I also have tips for the opposite problem... Is it sad that I consider myself a poo expert?
try looking at this website... www.babywisemom.blogspot.com
see if you can find anything there!
cari...from your mom's computer
I am so thankful to all of you ladies for responding! I am going to try some of your suggestions. Lets hope it works. Megan, what is Kale? I'm very interested. And Cristi I don't think its a bad thing to be a poop expert. Kreg and I laugh all the time about how normal it is to talk about poop at the dinner table these days. so funny!
Kale is a dark, leafy, green vegetable. It's in the cabbage family, but looks kind of like a frilly lettuce. I love it sauteed with garlic and onion, or ginger and soy sauce. I just discovered it a few months ago, and it's a new favorite! For Elli I steamed and pureed it, and she seems to like it!
Megan had this problem when we started her on whole milk. I was told give her lots of fruit and veggies, but not banana's or applesause. Megan was in so much pain that the doctor told me to buy some Miralax and give her a small amount with her bottle. She pooped within 5 minutes of giving that to her. Makayla may be too small to try that, but you could ask your doctor about it. It's no fun seeing them go through the pain. I had to leave Target last week because Megan was grunting so hard and crying because she was in so much pain. Good luck finding a cure!
